Guided Self-放置
Guided Self-放置 is a tool that helps measure your confidence levels in English and math so you can make informed decisions about the English and math courses to take at Macomb 社区 大学.
Once you have completed your guided self-placement, you can meet with an Academic Advisor or Counselor to discuss course recommendations with you to make a decision that takes your personal experiences and educational goals into account. New students are assigned Guided Self-放置 within their Admission Account after their application has been processed.
放置 Testing
放置 Testing is available for students who have been referred both on-campus and online via Examity. There is a $25 fee to use the online Examity platform for testing. There is no charge to test on-campus. If you plan to test on-campus, please bring a photo ID.

ACCUPLACER offers a variety of study materials, including a free 研究应用. We 高度 recommend creating an account for the 研究应用 to use the Learn as You Go feature. Learn as You Go allows you to take instructive and interactive practice tests online that resemble the actual test itself. In addition, ACCUPLACER also provides free sample questions, which are found in the links below. If you are referred to take the ACCUPLACER test, the 研究应用 and sample questions will prepare you for:

English Language Learner Test
Macomb 社区 大学 STRONGLY recommends that students sign up for and access the 放置 Testing 研究应用 before attempting their placement exam.
Students who wish to retest any section or the entire 放置 Test or the 放置 Test for ESL (English for Academic Purposes placement - EAPP) test, must wait seven (7) days from their initial testing date.
- There will be a $25.00 fee for retesting.
- Pay the retesting fee at the Cashier’s Office at either campus.
- Obtain the receipt and take it to the 放置 Testing Office.
- Give the receipt to the 放置 Testing Proctor.
After the initial retest, students must wait 120 days for further retesting.

Scores become inactive after two years. If students need to retest after two years, there will be no fee as this is considered an initial test. Additional tests will be considered retests and the Retesting & Fees Policy will apply. Go directly to the 放置 Testing Office to retest if it has been two years since your last test.
